Four generations behind ice-cream taster

John Harrison, the executive ice-cream taster for Edy's Grand Ice Cream, stated he grew up "drinking 40 percent heavy thrashing cream." Born in Newport News, he comes from a family with four generations of history in the dairy and ice-cream manufacturing.

The 65-year-old would be in town this week encourage Edy's "Quest for a Cooler Workplace" contest. The prize - a month's provide of the Edy's Dibs ice-cream snacks, which would turn up in a freezer. He spoke with us previous week from his Oakland, Calif., office.

Nestle Ice Cream seeking for acquisitions

Nestle Ice Cream Romania, the head of the home ice cream market, is scrutinising the market for gaining opportunities and by now has its eye as well on two smaller competitors. We are at present examining two Romanian producers," Dimitris Zogopoulos, marketing manager of Nestle Ice Cream Romania, told ZF.

He believes small ice cream makers on the home market could go away if they do not invest in their businesses, among increased competition. The Romanian ice cream market is currently divided among Nestle Ice Cream and Napolact (a company in the Friesland Foods group) and other smaller domestic companies that hold same market shares, of 10 to 15%.

Free Ice cream distributed

It's party time at Cleveland Street. Starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, the public is invited to rejoice the completion of the second block of the $9-million Cleveland Street streets champing initiative. The occasion would as well comprise of music and samples of free ice cream and pizza from Working Cow Ice Cream and Tony's Pizzeria & Ristorante. The occurrence would be in city center between Fort Harrison and Garden avenues.

Ice cream shop gives back

Albany-- an Albany ice cream shop is gives back to the society, even though it has not been open a year. MaggieMoo's held its bureaucrat huge opening last week.

The store started operating in December but it required to hold a particular celebration to thank supporters who have visited them. They're showing their approval by donating 20 % of Saturday's proceeds to the Grace Way Recovery Center.
